Some of the songs played here are examples of the materials we discuss.  These are by far the less violent of the ones out there, but harmful to young minds.

Does Life imitate Art, or does Art imitate Life?

What is this innocent sounding song talking about.  It is talking about robbing someone, killing  and guns. It has a very catchy beat and one that will stick in your head long after the song is over.  Trust me I know.
  • Lil Wayne Lollipop
Play Lil Wayne LollipopLil Wayne Lollipop
This is an example of a song that many young people are listening to that is very suggestive in nature and one that most parents would not want their kids listening to.  I placed some of the lyrics to Lollipop on the lyrics section, check them out and you decide...
  • Soulja Boy Crank Dat
Play Soulja Boy Crank DatSoulja Boy Crank Dat
Here is another innocent sounding song that degrades women, and is talking about sexual positions and who knows what else.  Its a sexual position where the guy ejaculates on the girls back, she doesn't know, wakes up the next morning and gets out of bed with the sheets sticking on to her back so she looks like superman.  You decide if this is acceptable for your kids.
  • Ja Rule
    Play Ja RuleJa Rule

Any song that advocates suicide is one that most people would not want their kids playing.  Your thoughts on this one.  Here are the lyrics.

World if I grow old (World if I grow old)
I be shocked myself (I be shocked myself)
Cuz only Lord knows (Cuz only Lord knows)
All the pain I was dealt (All the pain I was dealt)
I should just kill myself (I should just kill myself)
And get it all over with (And get it all over with)
But then I stop and pray (But then I stop and pray)
Lord watch over me (Lord watch over me)

Music is universal.  You can not control it.  It goes into our brains and stays there forever.
